WHAT IS A NOTARIZATION OR A NOTARIZED SIGNATURE?

There are times that you sign a document, and the receiver of that document requires that you have been identified by the State of California, as the person who signed the document. This is to prevent a person from signing someone else's name to any transaction. A Fraud Deterrent.  There will be times that the notarization process requires a verbal oath or affirmation to be given as well as your signature.

When a notary notarizes, they're notarizing your signature and not the document.  They're showing that you provided satisfactory evidence, recognized by the State of California, to be the person you're claiming to be in signing this document.

This is what is meant by "Notarized Signatures" for pricing purposes below.

PRICING

  • This is a MOBILE NOTARY SERVICE- there is no office location for you to stop by.

  • The fee for the notary to come to your preferred standard location, within our service area, is $35 plus the cost of notarizations. This is for appointments in your home, Starbucks/coffee shop, a restaurant, an office location, curbside, etc.

  • For all care facility locations, ex. nursing/rehab/care home/hospital facility appointments, the fee for an appointment is $50 plus the cost of notarizations.

(Individual appointment quote prior to setting each appointment)

  • There is a state regulated fee of $15 per notarized signature plus the single mobile notary fee of $35 or $50 to meet at your preferred location within our service area. For 1 notarized signature at a standard location, the total is $50. Each additional signature notarized is +$15.  For 1 notarized signature at a care facility location, the total is $65 and +$15 for each additional signature notarized.

We offer a flat total rate (vs per signature) for Estate Plan or Living Trust Plan packages, and Real Estate Transactions.

Group rates available for 15 or more notarized signatures.

PAYMENT

  • Cash, Venmo or Zelle accepted as payment. The notary does not carry cash for change. Please plan accordingly .

PLEASE NOTE

  • The mobile notary fee will be charged for any appointment attended, even if for any reason the notarization is not completed due to the inability to establish satisfactory identification required by CA law, or the inability to satisfy the competency and awareness requirements of a signer.  Please take this into consideration when scheduling an appointment for notary service.

  • All transactions are final. No refunds will be given for services provided.

IDENTIFICATION

  • Each person needing their signature notarized must appear in person & present unexpired, government issued, photo identification (Driver's license or passport most commonly) MILITARY ID commonly does NOT meet the identification requirements for California. You will need to produce additional identification. Identification MUST BE IN PHYSICAL FORM.  Digital identification, or photo/copy of identification is not permissible per the laws of the State of California for satisfactory evidence to prove your identity.

WITNESSES

  • Please confirm if you NEED witnesses for your document(s). To be a witness for the signing of a document, the witness must be 18 years of age, they may not be named within the document, and they can have no benefit received from the signing of the document. You may provide your own witness(es) for the signing.

  • If the notary must provide an additional witness for you, there is a $25 fee PER witness.

Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at audra@siumobilesignings.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

A credentialed notary has demonstrated advanced knowledge, professional judgment, and adherence to higher standards. I am credentialed as an Expert Notary by the American Guild of Notaries Public, which means my work is held to elevated professional expectations. This helps reduce errors, delays, and document rejections.

Siu Mobile Signings - Mobile Notary Services is a notary business that provides notarial services such as notarizing documents, certifying copies, and administering oaths.

I can notarize various types of documents, including affidavits, power of attorney, deeds, contracts, domestic partnership, adoption, bills of sale. automotive, etc. Any document that can be notarized in the state of CA.   I handle general notary work and specialized documents including estate plans and trust packages, loan signings, health care directives, adoption documents, minor travel consent forms, and more. If you are unsure whether your document can be notarized, feel free to ask before scheduling.

You will need to bring a valid government-issued ID, the document to be notarized, and any other necessary paperwork or forms, completed and ready to sign in front of the notary. Should your document require witnesses, those too will need to be present for the signing of the document.

Errors can cause documents to be rejected, delayed, or require re-signing. This often costs additional time, money, and stress. Many of my appointments involve correcting mistakes made during prior notarizations. Choosing an experienced notary helps ensure documents are completed correctly the first time.
